On 13th February 2025, the 37th anniversary of the Artsakh movement was commemorated in Yerevan, reaffirming the hope for return to Artsakh and addressing the current challenges and the protection of residents’ rights.

On 13 February 2025, a solemn ceremony was held in Yerevan to mark the 37th anniversary of the Artsakh movement, with the participation of members and activists from the movement’s founding group. The event began with a moment of silence to honour the memory of those who lost their lives in the various wars fought for Artsakh.

Gagik Bagunts, the interim Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament, addressed the gathering, expressing regret that such a historic occasion could not be commemorated on the soil of Artsakh itself. He emphasised the importance of ensuring that the hope and faith in returning to Artsakh remain steadfast within the Artsakh Armenian community, despite the many challenges faced.

The movement’s activists engaged in a collective act of remembrance, revisiting the pivotal events that have shaped the destiny of the region. They also voiced concerns over the ongoing difficulties faced by the people of Artsakh today. Concrete proposals were put forward, aimed at safeguarding the rights and interests of the people of Artsakh, with particular attention to the preservation of their identity and international recognition of their status.

This gathering served as a reaffirmation of the resolute will to maintain the hope of returning to Artsakh, a symbol of the relentless struggle for sovereignty and dignity of the Artsakh people.
